It's Time for New Leadership in Ankeny
I am running for election to Ankeny City Council this November. I promise to work tirelessly to make Ankeny a community that everyone can thrive in.
Together we can ensure Ankeny has excellent public services and infrastructure, creates housing options for all residents, and develops responsibly with a long-term mentality.
Key Issues For Our Community

Housing Solutions For All
Our community struggles with increasingly high housing costs.
The city government has worsened this crisis through unnecessary government red tape, which has prohibited many types of housing. My goal is to eliminate these overbearing zoning regulations.
We must allow the construction of homes that address the needs of all members of our community, whether young or old, rich or poor.
Additionally, I would pursue incentives offered by the county, state, and federal governments to support housing construction.

Mental Health
Mental health is a crisis that is deeply affecting our community.
Our city needs to bring mental health specialists for relevant 911 calls, as other communities have. This way residents will get better care and the police can focus more resources on public safety.
I will seek to partner with our schools, as adolescents are particularly likely to experience mental health issues.
And finally, I aim to create a mental health fund. By fundraising private donations, we can significantly invest in mental health services for Ankeny.

Controlling Property Taxes
Property assessments have risen rapidly in recent years; consequently, the taxes residents pay to the city have increased.
I believe the solution is to relieve the artificial housing shortage, as this will stabilize assessments and taxes.
It is also important that we prioritize fiscally sustainable development, particularly by adding mixed use development and new employers.
By having strategic growth, Ankeny can ensure it can afford to maintain our quality of life without excessive taxation.
